Travel Grant

TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

--
CoNext will be able to provide a limited number of grants to students to attend the CoNext conference and participate in the CoNext Student Workshop. Requests for travel support should be submitted via the CoNext Student Workshop page, and have the same deadline as student poster submissions (September 29th, 2006).

The student should submit the following material via the travel grant submission page, in one single file (one document or a zip file with the bundle) :

  • your resume

  • a short statement (two or three paragraphs) indicating how you would benefit from attending CoNext, and a brief summary of research interests and accomplishments. CoNext travel awards may not cover the full amount required to attend the conference and student workshop. If you will be unable to attend CoNext without a travel grant (whether full or partial), please explain why this is the case.

  • your approximate/estimated travel costs to the CoNext conference

  • your advisor (or a faculty contact if you do not yet have an advisor) should submit a letter of recommendation, confirming that you are in good standing at your University, and commenting on the strengths and potential contributions of the student. The advisor letter should be mailed to the student travel grant co-chairs (Prof. Serge Fdida, serge.fdida@lip6.fr, and Professor Jim Kurose, kurose@cs.umass.edu). It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the advisor’s email is provided.

Additional information about student travel grants

  • Preference will be given to abstract submitters

  • Travel awards will be announced at the same time that decisions are announced on submitted abstracts.
