Demonstrations

The demo session will be held from 1515-1615 on Wednesday (Aug 20th) in the Princessa Ballroom. The presenters will be able to set up their demo in the preceding 30-min break. Those who need more time setting up should consider starting the setup during the preceding technical session itself. The room will be ready for setup roughly 30 mins after lunch.

SIGCOMM will provide an easel for an accompanying poster (if any), a 6ft table for the equipment, electrical power, and wired network access to each demo. All other equipment (e.g., computers, monitors, keyboard, etc.) must be arranged by the presenters. See shipping information below if needed. Alternatively, some equipment (e.g., monitor or screen-n-projector) can be also be rented from the hotel. Posters

The poster session will be held from 1455-1555 on Tuesday (Aug 19th) in the Princessa Ballroom. We will provide an easel for supporting the posters.

Optional demo and poster session

For willing presenters and attendees, there will be another, optional demo and poster session during the lunch break on the Thursday (Aug 21st). This session will also be held in the Princessa Ballroom. The demo presenters may be able to leave their setup intact from the previous day.

Shipping information

The Grand Hyatt Seattle will accept only prepaid packages. Any packages coming in C.O.D. will be refused by the hotel and no notification will be made to the hotel to the shipper. At the Grand Hyatt Seattle we ask that you follow these simple guidelines for shipping and receiving materials. All materials, literature, products, etc. that are shipped to the hotel must be labeled with the following information:

  1. Return address: your address here
  2. Name of group affiliation: ACM SIGCOMM
  3. Meeting date: August 17-22, 2008
  4. Group contact: Suzanne Albee
  5. Name of person that will claim package and date of arrival: your name here>

All materials, literature, products, etc. that are shipped to hotel should be sent to the following address:

A handling charge of five dollars ($5.00) per box and two hundred dollars ($200.00) per pallet will be applicable for all boxes delivered to the hotel. The hotel accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged goods. The hotel has limited capability for receiving, handling and storage of any convention materials. It is the responsibility of the meeting planner to notify hotel in advance of estimated volume of materials to be shipped to the hotel. Deliveries will not be accepted more than five (5) days prior to event date.
