Workshop on Internet of Things and Service Platforms (IoTSP 2011)

Paper Submissions Due: August 12th, 2011 (EXTENDED)

The "Internet of Things (IoT)" is an emerging paradigm in which smart objects provide seamless communication and contextual services such as smart rooms, smart vehicles, recommendation services, and power management. With recent development of RFID tags, sensors, actuators, and mobile phones along with communication technologies, it becomes possible to build smart objects which interact and co-operate each other.

However, we still do not have a common service platform to build such systems; it is essential to the development of IoT systems to have generic and customizable service frameworks which provide scalability and interoperability.

The primary goal of the workshop is to discuss design and architectural issues to build service platforms for Internet of Things and interconnected smart objects, covering different research fields such as networked sensing systems, interconnected smart objects, database systems, protocols and scalable information systems.

The workshop is an integral part of ACM CoNEXT 2011, and accepted papers are to be published in the CoNEXT 2011 proceedings on the ACM Digital Library.

Suggested topics that could be discussed at IoTSP 2011 include (but are not limited to):

Program Co-chairs Kazunori TakashioKeio University, Japan / Primary contact person
Jean Philippe VasseurCisco Fellow, IPSO TAB Chair, USA
Toru HasegawaKDDI R&D Laboratories, Japan

Submitted papers must be at most eight (8) pages long, including all figures, tables, references, appendices, etc. They must be formatted according to the standard alternate ACM double column format except that all text must use a font size of 10 points or larger. Longer submissions will not be reviewed. You are strongly encouraged to use the modified 10pt ACM sig-alternate-10pt latex template.
